The President of the Court of Justice of UEMOA received in audience by the Minister of Justice of Burkina Faso

Afer taking office on Wednesday 11 February 2026, Mr Kuami Gameli LODONOU, President of the WAEMU Court of Justice, began a series of visits and meetings with the judicial authorities of Burkina Faso.

In this context, he was received in audience on Friday 13 March 2026 by the Minister of Justice, Mr Edasso Rodrigue BAYALA, assisted for the occasion by members of his cabinet. The President of the Court of Justice was accompanied by Mr Kalifa BAGUE, First Advocate General.

This working session enabled President LODONOU to pay his respects to the Minister of Justice and to raise awareness of the Community Court.

Looking ahead, the two officials discussed future partnerships, such as collaboration aimed at strengthening the capacity of Burkina Faso’s judicial staff regarding UEMOA Community law.

It should be noted that prior to this meeting, the President of the Court of Justice had already been received by the First President of the Court of Cassation and then by the President of the High Council of the Judiciary, on 10 March and 12 March 2026 respectively.
