Training of Young Lawyers on the Preliminary Ruling Mechanism

A delegation from the Court of Justice participated in the inaugural session of the Conference of Young Lawyers of the UEMOA Area (CJA-UEMOA), held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Azalaï Hotel in Ouagadougou, under the theme:
“The Role of Associations and Unions of Young Lawyers in the Implementation of Community Laws.”

The delegation from the Court was composed of Judge GAYAKOYE SABI ABDOURAHAMANE, Advocate General Kalifa BAGUE, Deputy Registrar, and Documentalist Narcisse HOUNYO. During the event, Judge GAYAKOYE presented the topic “The Preliminary Ruling Procedure before the UEMOA Court of Justice.” This presentation was followed by engaging discussions.

As a reminder, CJA-UEMOA aims to defend the professional, material, and moral interests of its members; contribute to improving the working conditions of young lawyers in an increasingly harmonized legal space; and uphold the rights of defense, as well as individual and collective public freedoms within the UEMOA area.
